A New Orleans Legacy, Carried Forward by Family

For more than three decades, Trips Unlimited was one of New Orleans' most beloved travel companies. Founded in 1986 by the Sanders family, it was built on something simple — the belief that every person deserves to see the world without the stress of planning it. They handled every detail so their guests could simply show up and enjoy the ride.

The company grew into a genuine institution. Thousands of New Orleanians traveled with them — to Nashville, the Smokies, Cape Cod, Washington D.C., and beyond. They built a reputation not just for good logistics, but for the kind of warmth and care that made guests feel like family.

When the pandemic arrived in 2020, the Sanders family made the painful decision to close. But the story wasn't over. Ryan Sanders — grandson of the original founders, who grew up stuffing catalogs and watching his family build something special — made the decision to bring it back. Same name. Same values. A new chapter.

Today, Trips Unlimited is once again taking New Orleans travelers on unforgettable journeys, with the same commitment to exceptional service that made the original company a household name for over three decades.

Founded by the Sanders Family

The original Trips Unlimited launches in New Orleans. A young Ryan Sanders starts stuffing catalogs in the family office.

Ryan grew up in the Trips Unlimited family business, stuffing catalogs and watching his grandparents build something special. After years in motorcoach transportation and leadership roles in the travel industry — including service on the NTA Board of Directors — he brought the family company back to life in 2023. He runs Trips Unlimited with the same values it was founded on, and a clear vision for where it's going next.

Frances brings 35 years of travel industry experience to Trips Unlimited — and she's still as passionate about travel as the day she started. A longtime NTA Board member and an expert in retail motorcoach travel, Frances leads marketing, customer relationships, and tour development. She's the reason our trips feel so thoughtfully put together. Ask her about any destination and she'll have a story — and probably a recommendation for the best restaurant in town.
